Funding

Although regular attenders of The Oxford Vineyard Church, Marc and Julie receive no financial support from them, although individuals give from time to time.

They spend over 40 hours a week on BREAK-THROUGH activity. For meeting the practical needs of their homeless friends, they depend on donations. All such gifts are used directly for those in need, as administrative costs are funded by themselves.

Twice a week Marc and Julie deny themselves of one meal, and money saved pays towards food and beverages for those living rough.

BREAK-THROUGH is not a registered charity (yet) but does have its own bank account. Anyone wishing to make a donation, cheques should be made out to 'BREAK-THROUGH'.

How You Can Help Others

Many people ask what they should do when passing by a beggar on the street. From Marc and Julie's experience, money should not be given. If such is asked for, they suggest that you simply say that you have none to spare.

However, to greet or acknowledge beggars, and if you wish to give to them sweets in the summer and chocolate in the winter, this is likely to be appreciated.

Beggars have said to Marc and Julie that their wish is - to be treated like human beings.
